North County - Deck

The challenge: This home lies in the northwest corner of Whatcom County on a beautiful sloping property. The owners have had Hudson remodeling work on their home twice. We first remodeled the entry and interior of the house and the returned for the deck on the rear of the house. The owners wanted a new entry, a bigger kitchen and a lighter, more open living space with a flowing floor plan.

The home owners were so pleased with the expertise and craftmanship of Hudson Remodeling they readily agreed to open their home to the First Tour of Remodeled Homes (presented by the Remodeler's Council of the Building Industry of America). The house was toured for two days; Tour goers voted on their favorite remodel and we a proud to say that this home won!

Details:The deck flows from the house following the contour of the land. It provides a gradual descent to the large yard below. The deck includes upper eating and relaxing space, flower/tree space, another "sunny area" picnic table and the lowest level provides a fire pit and seating area. The deck uses TREX decking. Hudson remodeling is one of two certified TREX installers in Whatcom County.
